her adoption of the Capitulation Poem of 1745, as spoken
extempore on the present crisis of affairs.
  Boast not, fair Goddess, paitriot zeal,
  In warlike Amazonian lays,
  Or borrow'd plumes to shine.
  Let Freedom's daughters skill be shown
  In toils of industry their own,
  And prompt the grand design.
